Jeff –
I excitedly awaited the release of the Fusion MS-BB100 for my new boat, to integrate with the chartplotter via NMEA2000. After installing it and messing with it some, I felt compelled to write a review, which I rarely do. First off, the bluetooth audio quality is awful….which is unfortunate, since that’s the whole selling point of this unit….bluetooth. The same audio sounds great when connected with a 3.5mm aux cord to the aux jack. Secondly, I can’t get it to play audio via USB from my brand new Samsung Galaxy S7, my older iPad, my older iPhone 4, or a USB memory stick. Thirdly, the Fusion Link app is awful….and this app is one of the biggest reasons I bought a Fusion stereo. It will not even connect to my android tablet, my iPad 2, or my iPhone 4. This is horrible, since I want to use an older (cheaper!) device to control music on my BOAT, where these devices are likely to get broken, lost, wet, etc. Lastly, I was hoping to use my Mercury Vessel View 7 MFD (rebranded Simrad NSS7) to control the Fusion….says it is possible right in the literature for both units that it’s possible….however I just get the "initializing" message forever with no data sent from the Fusion. Fusion’s tech support was less than helpful. In conclusion, I wish I’d read a review like mine before buying this unit…because I wouldn’t have.
